Ashley Don'T Go Poem by Jorge Rolon

Ashley Don'T Go

I woke up one summer day
To find out you drove away
Back to the city where you shine
You left us all behind
You left and took all your things
I couldn't fly with these broken wings

You were some sort of get away
My human holiday

I put this smile on for show
Because my pains done nothing but grow
Nights like these the stars don't glow
Sometimes I wish I'd said don't go

I day dream of you all afternoon
Every night I stare at the moon
Hoping you're staring at it too
So I gently whisper I love you
Hope somehow you receive it
You still hold my heart never leave it

You were some sort of get away
My human holiday

I put this smile on for show
Because my pains done nothing but grow
Nights like these the stars don't glow
Sometimes I wish I'd said don't go

There wasn't much I could say
Cause none of my words could get in the way
You were ready to leave this town
That your smile turned around
I know you are better off now
But I'll find my way back to you somehow
