Ask Me Not (Sonnet #210) Poem by Tina Baaklini

Ask Me Not (Sonnet #210)

Ask me not out of love to compromise
Love is granted from the heart without plea
For you I compromise not, I sacrifice
For all the tenderness you pour at me.

Tell me not what you like and what you don't
For I know you like the palm of my hand
We're one by fate, we share a sacred bond
The depth of my soul, you read, understand.

Ask me not when the sun rises and sets
For your eyes are my sun and constellations
Overheat, sunburns, people's sun begets
My sun warms my heart with love and passion.

But, if you ask my heart and soul about you
Just take my hand and my all will follow you.
