At Last, A Confession Poem by Lanton Shelby

At Last, A Confession

Rating: 5.0

I’m here to tell you the truth my dear,
A truth left hidden, for many a year,
It all began with a look in your eyes,
A beauty unrivaled by the bluest skies,
Your smile relieves the harshest of plights1,
Outshining the stars on the clearest of nights,
Whenever our eyes meet I know that you feel,
A hint of the secret I soon will reveal,
I love you my dear, but not as you trust,
No brotherly bond, not merely just lust,
But the truest of love, from deep in my heart,
For all of these years, it’s torn me apart,
The truth is upon you; now do as you may,
Should you not wish to see me, I’ll be on my way.
