At Last Call(For Travis) Poem by derrick foster

At Last Call(For Travis)

At last call
When the lights go out
Enter you

At last call
Before the doors close
We forged our friendship

At last call
On our next meet
We found common ground

At last call
When emotions are high
You start to cry and I understand why

At last call
When we again gather
You deemed us “mocha mist”

At last call
With energies combined
Our friendship is refined

At last call
We developed friendship
With love no one understood

At last call
You showed me deep emotion
And wonderful memory

At last call
I showed my brilliant smile
And magnetism

At last call
I moved away
And you were deeply moved

At last call
We talked by phone for hours
Sustaining friendship at long distance

At last call
We shared music and witty quotes
Solidifying a deeper camaraderie

At last call
You came to visit me
I showed you my city

At last call
You knew the right time to call
I knew the right thing to say

At last call
We loved each other
As only spiritual brothers could

At last call
We meant to be a brief encounter
But found something richer

A loving friendship
Was lived and cherished
And lasted well after last call
