At Least We Will Live Through The Night, Or Die Poem by Brenda Segura

At Least We Will Live Through The Night, Or Die

I see the dust,
and on the furniture, the rust
In the ghetto there is no light
The food is rotten and old,
and for it we fight
There is no warmth it is just cold
At least we will live through the night,
or die...

We are so thin,
we could get blown by the wind
Dead bodies all around me,
it looks like a sea
At least we will live through the night,
or die...

I am trapped in four walls,
with my friends and our dolls,
but we don't smile
No Jews smile in miles
At least we will live through the night,
or die...

Planes are flying above us,
bombing at the ghetto
Nazis are leaving Russians are arriving
Now we have hope
Now we are free
Now we are going home
At least we will live through the night
and LIVE! ! !
