At Peace For Now



I am at peace
After all the years
Quiet inside
For now
Nowhere to go
Nothing to do
No worlds to conquer
Or be conquered by
Quiet
Listening to myself
Say my own words
With no need
For anything
But the afternoon light
And the surrounding green city and clear blue white sky
At peace for a brief moment
For now
