At Peace With The World Poem by Edward W. Cousins

At Peace With The World

Rating: 5.0

fell asleep on my couch last night.
I awoke a dozens times
thinking you were here.
I heard your voice.
I dreamed your eyes stared into mine
and your hair flowed down my side.
Wrapped around my body
like the strings around
my fingers when i play my guitar.
The way it sings to each note.
The way i press my tips
down just enough to make a sound as beautiful
as you.
Lets drive till the wind smiles spring time
and you shine in the sunlight
from the summer sun.
Away from the cold rain.
I followed you again through the sunset
and into the night.
Windows down with our hands out,
making that waving motion.
Up and down. And ever so often the street light
was so kind as to show me your eyes.
I just layed my head back for awhile and let you drive.
At peace with myself and the world.
