At That Exact Moment Poem by Andrew Matthews

At That Exact Moment

Rating: 5.0

I close my eyes,
As someone dies,
A bubble rises in a glass of water,
An atom explodes,
A star is born somewhere.
I open my eyes
as someone lies,
A gunshot is heard,
someone's scared,
A train is delayed,
A perfect note is played,
A light goes out,
I'm filled with doubt,
A goal is scored,
A drink is poured,
A car kills once again,
A story's half baked,
An election is faked,
Someone wakes up
to see the light
In the dead of night,
There is no need to fight.
I close my eyes
as i die,
I need not fight
To flee the light,
There's nowhere else to go,
The planet turns still,
No matter our will.
I see again...
A place that was once
from where I'd come.
My home...my home...
I'm once again home.
