At The Border Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

At The Border

At the borders

Let us go for a walk
To reach a brick wall
Of the rough clay, mud.

Need cranes to cross
Or gate must be unlocked.

Imagine your lover
Is in jail and tied tight.

Now listen to heartbeats
Crossing the thick walls.

Do you feel the fire?
Can you see the flames?
How about the blood
Bubbling in your veins?

Now, take the parents-kids
In your mind, and digest
The feelings that they have
Rich of hate, full of love…

How can we ask for peace?
How can we seek loving?
From these lions, which
We shot, and now bleed?

Be a bear or monkey
Be a whale or dolphin
Be a cat and kittens
Be, be, be, anything…

Be one of those beings
When turned to refugees
Thanks to you, your ego,
Selfishness and greed…

Break walls of the wealth,
Break "National Anthems! "
Break walls of the class!
