At The End Of My Life/Not Recognition And Reward And Rest Poem by Shalom Freedman

At The End Of My Life/Not Recognition And Reward And Rest

At the end of my life
Not recognition and reward and rest
But the labor
Of the poor and unskilled
Not peace and abundance
But the struggle of the have-not
The reward of a life-long failure
The humility that does not uplift
But hurts as humiliation.
