Atomic Petition (A Metaphysical Exposition) Poem by *Tony Cemaluk Egbuonu

Atomic Petition (A Metaphysical Exposition)

The atomic particle knew its worth.
On returning undone,
it stood before the Almighty Atom.

'I see I have returned.
I am not afraid to be back.
Just one request.
I am not done yet.
I need to go back
and finish well.'

'Request granted, '
replied the Almighty Atom.
'I wondered why the rush back.
Your record is clean.
Mainly pure.
Not significantly blemished —
save for issues of forgiveness.

Go back.
Avail this rare chance.
Work on the issue.
Seek forgiveness
from the motley number
you unknowingly wronged.

And forgive the multitude
that knowingly wronged you.'

Still held by cohesion,
the particle waited.
Excitation peaked.

On the verge of exit,
it turned back
to the Almighty Atom.

'I cannot forgive all...
Unless You first forgive
Your brother cast out forever.

He continually wreaks havoc,
negates our mission,
the grand order,
eternal equilibrium,
heaven.'
