Atoms Don't Exist Poem by Paul Hartal

Atoms Don't Exist

"Don't be silly", he said, "of course they do."

"Well", she said, "according to the eminent quantum physicist
Niels Bohr, atoms don't exist."

" But is not matter built from tiny balls that scientists
call atoms? ", he asked.

"No", she replied. "Atoms are neither solid little balls,
nor small puffy clouds. They are rather points of force,
metaphors invented by the human mind. Bohr himself stressed
that 'when it comes to atoms language can be used only
as in poetry'."
