He's so
Attached to me
That his wife
Tells me, that
In his state of
Dementia -
He subconsciously
Treats his wife
As me, and wanders
Around telling everyone
That I'm his daughter
Staying in Delhi....


(such anecdotes make you smile and cry, smiling about the blessing that a person can feel so close to you and crying about the fact that within a few years, he'll become a total stranger to you and won't be able to recognize you - that's what happens in Alzheimer's Disease - progressive degeneration of the brain)

I wrote this about someone - a close relation of mine - he's not my father and I don't live in Delhi.
