August Moon (Rise And Fall) Poem by Arnie Hicks

August Moon (Rise And Fall)

Rating: 5.0

the torture of heretics
and the burning of witches -
all bets are off on the next episode.

hypocrites and autocrats,
heaven to bribe and hell to pay -
every non-action is a reaction to action.

from wallstreet to your street,
greed's a pretty poison -
a pound of flesh isn't what it was once.

faceless and furious,
the lords and ladies of commerce submit -
slow death under the fluorescents.

From Wall Street to your street greed is a pretty poison......we are dying a slow death with a drink of this potion. Great poem.
