Aunt Kate Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Aunt Kate

Aunt Kate's life is unhappy of late.
She's exhausted long before noon.
Never admitting she is seventy-eight.
Old-age will be hers very soon.

She retires to her bed early each night
And greets the first sun of day...
Believing God will make everything right
For He is the truth, the light and the way.

Not long ago, Aunt Kate travelled far
Flew three thousand miles in a 'plane.
But now the fun days are finished and done
Kate will have to admit she is eighty-one.
