Aurora Australis Poem by White Monkey

Aurora Australis

Rating: 5.0

Far and wide I come to pursue
Some lights from the South I seldom knew
The remote and the beauty of the South
The pristine of the nature that got me wow
I'm cold and here alone in the dark
Waiting for the lights and the proton arc
And also the picket fence and flare
To appear across the sky
To finally see my dream that high
Green, yellow and red I expect
It's actually my soul that I reflect
The feeling I have in me
All I want is to be free
The silence fills my void
I'm focused on the sky with joy
I see the Milky Way and the Southern Cross
Under the clear sky I know I'm not lost
All I can do is to wait
Aurora Australis is the most beautiful bait
My soul feels at peace
This is where I wanna be

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
7 August 2015 at about 11.55pm-Dover, Tasmania (Australia) waiting for Aurora Australis. I didn't manage to catch the lights as I didn't stay up (so no photo) .

A photographer was very kind to let me use her photo for my poem. It's the perfect one for it. Thank you Ms Stephanie Dennison

Getting pristine of nature is wonderful in imagery expressed well through poem. Wise sharing.
