Australia - The Dragon's Breath Poem by Paul Warren

Australia - The Dragon's Breath

It was an early summers day
When the Dragon's Breath sprayed
Across the land in the devil's display
As the people fled in a need to get away

The land was scorched as the sky turned black
As the smoke boiled up in columns and sparks flew back
There were homes lost and farms burnt down
Livestock lost and crops blackened all around

Two lives were lost in the Dragon's Breath
With firefighters injured in their fiery test
Another day to remember ordinary ones
For each of South Australia's daughters and sons.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
25/11/15 will go down as a horror day of bushfires in the mid north of South Australia. May those lost RIP and those injured recover. Those who have lost property I hope will be able to recover.
