Australian kangaroos bounding around in the flood
Is unusual as the heat and the dust is in their blood
But the big September storms of 2016 have changed
The environment for these Australian icons in their home range
Now you see mobs of these fleet of foot creatures
Who are looking for dry land in the bush features
So they splash and bound away through the flood
To higher ground through the watery crude
We need to readjust some of the ideas we know
Of Australia when you think of where wildlife will go
When the once in 50 year storms flood the Australian Bush
Its googles and flippers that will be a kangaroo's Christmas wish.
