Australia Trip Pt3 - 2005 Poem by Alison Gaff

Australia Trip Pt3 - 2005

Now at Mitchs' we can laze
And spend a few more quiet days
First day here, the tides real high
Our photo in the paper, oh golly my! ! !

Although we're resting there is things to do
Like shopping, friends and a skydive too!
And later if the weathers right
Steve can have his micro-lite flight

There's other places for us to see
Marybrough, Childers and places for tea
There's Olds Engineering and Apple Tree Creek
It's lots to do in only one week

At Marybrough catfish we did feed
Saw lots of lorikeets all eating seed
Watched young kookaburras at Bibeli Creek
Then at Woodgate wild kangaroos we did meet

Its our last day, so we're off to the beach
Saw Ospreys fishing, oh what a peach
He brings his fish up to the tree
Where we take photos, just you and me

Friends come round to say Good-bye
For tomorrow we must fly
We've seen so much and we've had a ball
So it's many thanks to one and all

Back home to England, wet and cold
Will we return before we get old! ! !

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
this 3 part poem was written after an awesome 4week holiday Feb/March 2005. If your wondering who Mitch is he was my uncle and this was only the second time I'd met him, as he emigrated to Oz 2 months before I was born.
