Many children are diagnosed year after year...
with a mental condition,
that's all to familiar and doesn't have a cure.
The name is called Autism,
Autism is the key...
Many families know;
just how hard it can be,
to face a life of uncertainties.
Confusion is felt, as you turn numb.
Trying to figure out what needs to be done.
Now imagine, finding out...
that your baby boy which isn't yet three,
Was just diagnose, autistic...
What a shock that could be.
Well, it happened to me..!
In his own little world,
that he built with his hands.
As the blocks were the steps...
to reach out for his hands.
In the darkness stood...
this beautiful little boy,
with a very big heart.
As I tried to reach out...
and touch him,
Or softly caress his face...
distances plagues this union,
which stands between He and I.
As he plays within his room,
so quietly he works.
Never notices I'm near.
Unaware I'm sitting...
right beside him in a chair.
For he doesn't see my face,
because he doesn't have a care.
He plays with his blocks,
which keeps him amused...
so fascinated, by what they can do.
Through the eyes of a child...
the innocents of youth.
He brings me so much pleasure,
for he'll brighten up any room.
His smile is something I'll treasure,
because most people would never know...
what it's like to have a disabled child,
who can't do things on their own.
So the lessons I learn with him,
are far greater...
than any lessons...
that I have ever learned before.
Because helping him, helps me to believe...
That one day,
he'll achieve all his own dreams.
I know;
He doesn't know how far he's come,
or what he has just been through.
He doesn't know what's in store,
or what he has left to do.
But I know he will find his way...
For darling;
you are strong just being you!
No matter how hard the road,
or obstacles in the way...
we'll bare it all together,
right by your side I'll stay.
My little boy...
the blessing is you.
Radiating your love...
without knowing what you do.
When you came into my life,
you taught me the wroth of a good fight.
You have more courage...
than most I know.
Teaching me to understand...
just by letting go.
There is no word to describe,
the true feeling of love...
coming from a mother to her son;
when the world you live in...
is an autistic one!
