Autumn Chickens Poem by Marilyn Lott

Autumn Chickens

Rating: 5.0

I took a walk one autumn day
The air so crisp and sweet
The earthiness extraordinary
Felt from my head down to my feet.

As I walked across the field
I heard a cluck cluck sound
Chickens that I love so much
An enjoyable country sound.

Sure enough, there they were
Running right to me
Scattering brilliant leaves
My friend, you would not believe.

An autumn loveliness I saw
My heart raced like the dickens
A walk I will long remember
Touched by autumn chickens!
