the clap of trees
withering in the dusk
the sad dropping of emaciate leaf
secrets whispered in a desolate wind
we cannot understand
nor touch the sorrow
the tramping of feet
the crush of sticks in dust
life's travails mocked
in timelessness of starlight
the unheard voice
lost in a moment of breath.

Yes! It matters how close one is to Nature, … so, one is able to hear the music of a falling leaf and the whisper of a withered wind… 5*
