Avenue Of Night - Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Along
The
Avenue
Of
Night
There
Drove
A
Car
Alone
No
Hand
AtSteering
And
No
passengers
how
w ild
how
eerie
that
silent
car
a nd
as
it
flew
velocity
full
alo ng
the
night
desert
boulevards
lit tle
by
little
above
the
asphalt
flew
driving
still
still< br>into
the
air
in to
the dark
till
it
flew
high
as
roofs
and
chimney s
and
beyond
that
silent
unmanned< br>car
without
a
hand
at
steering< br>without
a
passenger
it floated
flying
flying
unmanned
intothe
dark
into
the
night
into
its
promised
land
the
land
it
h ad
to
reach
before
the
Dawn:
Ay!
That
Land
No
Coasts
But
Air
Air
And
Air
And
Rumblings
Of
T hunder
Flashes
Of
Genius
Lightning!
That
Was
Where
It
Disappeared
The car
That
Along
The
Avenue
Of
Ni ght
There
Drove
That
Car
Alone
No
Hand
At
Steering
And
No
pass engers
how
wild
how
eerie
that
silent
car
and
as
it
flew
veloc ity
full
along
the
night
desert
boulevards
little
by
little
above
the
asphalt
flew
driving
still
still< br>into
the
air
in to
the dark
it
drove
