Awakened From A Slumber! Poem by Kwaku Ananse

Awakened From A Slumber!

Rating: 4.5

Hit my head against something
Something hard it woke me from my slumber
Finally felt the grasp! that I have been living on sketchy munted illusion
Blunted on reality I chose to live beneath
The Edges of complexity.
Tonight my head is heavy with thoughts and my heart, stripped of from affection. I know nothing more but solace from up above. Some memories ain't worth reminiscing. Devoid and Left in the hot hardened mud, I feel no pain. Emotionally derailed and subconsciously benumbed. Ignored portent from a dream to halt advances got me Perplexed on another tragical yet fleeting intimate tale.I stand afloat on a wooden raft amid a sea of obscene remorse, Brought on ma knees by tidal waves of vague thoughts. My quest for love and its euphony left me with fighting words in my mouth. laid in the cosmic sentiments of your unerring behaviour, I didn't feel, I couldn't heed, to all the all enthrallment, nor even see, a glimpse of reality. Echoes of disdained moments recalled leaving my heart heavy with grief. Obscured and Disillusioned by your beauty and warm embrace. The touch of your skin that gave life from within won't draw me from this Awakened slumber! Neither can your assorted expressions tame me either, nor can you cloke cover my resentment any longer. For I hit my head hard against a pillar, which revived me from my slumber.

Just awoken from slumber to realization that vain glorification of beauty is in itself a distress or tragedy in the bliss of love. A nice piece, well articulated and penned with insight. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
