Awakened Voice Poem by Sasanka Sekhar Panda

Awakened Voice

If really you trust truth
driven by the
thousand hands of grit and sincerity,
strike countless nails
on the chests of the ungrateful,
the traitors in the people's eyes,
guard their movements cautiously
whose villainous brain's
course of thought
is ever prepared to shovel
through the sinful doors.

At times of trouble
keep stationed your army
united in the border
steeling you heart with discipline
piece your love and distribute.

Fight, fight your war
against the devils
of injustice, exploitation and oppression
keep all the proud tyrants and arrogant despots
in complete seclusion and captivity,
by putting chains round their necks.

Bring them in ships and ask
why at all they inscribed their names
on the heart of the Sacred Earth Mother
in ugly words.

Didn't they knew?
Time will rub their names
and over their tombs, samadhi and cenotaph
will prevail a dark shadow
spreading its wings.

What their wandering souls
should do now is
to put their sins
at the feet of the Supreme Unseen Power,
and pray for apology,
confess in the altar of the Almighty,
because,
now the hunger struck millions
are no more in a mood to tolerate the
diktat of the unjust rule
of their successors.
