Awakening Within My Body Poem by Mohammad Younus

Awakening Within My Body

Awakening within my body,
I rise in the essence of my true self—fitrah—
this sacred home of the Divine,
a house of love beyond mere religion.
This cosmic embodiment,
woven by God's grace,
whispers the eternal voice
etched into all creation—
His book of wisdom,
His scripture of guidance,
forever calling, forever leading.
He asks us to behold
His presence within,
to read the unfolding verses
of spirit clothed in flesh.
These sacred lines reveal all.
We awaken within our bodies,
as prophets awakened in theirs.
Looking inward, I see—
my essence is divine.
He unveils His secret,
and I realize—He is infinitely me.
I open my eyes and ears,
and suddenly,
they are no longer mine alone.
They are His eyes, His ears,
beholding creation as Himself,
for all is His manifestation.
In a flash of knowing,
divine intelligence dawns,
and All in One, One in All
unfolds before me like lightning.
Do my words sound blasphemous to you?
Then open your heart to Oneness.
Let yourself receive the One
who already holds you.
For if we truly love Him,
we awaken within our own body,
where illusion dissolves,
where every hidden part—
once shrouded in pain, in darkness, in shame—
is transfigured in His radiance.
In Him, we are made whole.
In Him, we see ourselves—
lovely, luminous, complete.
We awaken as the Beloved,
as He awakens within us.
The Divine Body Within
We awaken in the Divine's body,
as the Divine awakens in our soul.
Looking inward, I see—
my fitrah, my essence, is Divine.
We rise as the sun ascends,
finding ourselves within our soul—
the sacred vessel of the true self,
where the Divine breathes His words.
Words are His love,
yet language is wordless, soundless,
mirroring Oneness to the seeing eye.
For all faces of Allah
are but reflections of one another—
of you, of me, of One.
