Aware Poem by alex simonson

Aware

Rating: 5.0

Standing on the edge
Anger washes over me
It consumes my body
Takes over my soul
Drowns out everything
I open my mouth
I yell so loud
It shakes the earth
Shakes my very core
I yell some more
No longer in control
I am a slave
Totally lost and unaware
Slowly it leaves me
Letting me go
The edge invites me
To take a ride
Calls my name
In a familiar voice
But now that I am free
And anger no longer
controls any part of me
I take a step back
And become
Suddenly so
AWARE
