Away Poem by Maria Alexandra

Away

With small and fearful steps
Easily passing life,
I,
With lips, but with no smile,
And with little blood,
in my heart, and in my pain stained arteries,
I go onward.

The betrayal of his kiss, cruel,
wants my heart to stop,
to stop fighting death,
to stop banishing the night off my eyes.

His eyes are bold,
and without a question,
they answer to the sound of my timid steps.
For they know where to find weakness in my heart.

His heavy voice, clings to my arms
but I'm not a fool,
I'm not staying here anymore.
My feet won't stop treading,
for my road does not end in his arms,
my road is endless.
It is death that I love now.

I walk
and walk
Through the world that sailed me away from his heart,
Away.
I fall, on the green, red, brown and yellow leaves
dead, same as them,
And the trees cry for me,
As they cry for all the dead that sleep under their roots.
