Awkward Stars Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Awkward Stars

Let us be awkward
Hearts pounding fast
For what seems like
Miles and miles
Of will and fortitude

Strangers of the calm
Yes, let us be that
Evoking all of our genius
Till all madness expires, withdraws
And then on its hesitation, bequests
May our newfound determination
Calibrate our eyes within the stars

Feed all of the strangeness
Harvest all the power that shall make us strong
Carry no burdens
Have no care no care at all

And there are those who doubt
Who think we are always wrong
Yet, what they do not know
Is that we are full of many shapes
And too sturdy to live
In their square world full of Neanderthal wherewithal

Together we shall wane ourselves off of woe
Our eyes to the skies,
Shall be redeemed to glow
Orbs of visions setting off to explore
Going where simple minds
Could never comprehend
Where we come from
And where we will end up going
That is for sure

And in these defying moments
No interference will exist ever again
Of course they call will call us crazy
So let us embrace crazy
After all our ambitions are beyond this world
As we are the dreamers who dream beyond the stars

Let us start a movement
A nomadic vision to our cause
Traveling further than we have ever known
To the unknown
Becoming innovative
Just because

We are movers, we are dreamers
Eccentric inventors of new journeys ahead
Weaving our own universe as one
A force to behold
Two souls painting each star as our own

Ah, Then I ponder
What will they think?
Doubt will surely come their way
Trying to get the time of our day
So the night would lead us astray
No way!

We are awkward
Never were we ever like them
Alien to their own existence
Testers to their own persistence
We were born to be vigilant
To all of their simple causes

Our evolution, our revolution
It has all just begun
Careless and free
Our path journey
Is one unhinged, No regret
Relaxing, feeling at ease
Having more fun
Than ever had before

Here we are
There, there they all are
Staring at us like
As if we were featured
In their own exclusive shows

Our visions travel beyond the skies

Yes, we are stars, we are stars!
Shining more than we have ever shined before

We are blessed in our awkwardness, Forever, Forevermore!

Our souls shall shine like never before!
Beyond everything and all!
For certainty for sure!

Forevermore!
