Please help me find my poem I wrote 35 years ago
'-Inside my Pen'. I always loved to draw never thought I was any good but I loved it. My mother had just bought me this fancy blue ink pen with a nice ink flow and I used that to draw. In 6th grade we had a project, there was a competition to write a poem and all the other schools were involved.
I didn't know what to write about, I was an artist not a poet, I thought to myself. As I sat there rolling my pen through my scrawny fingers it came to me, I'll write about my new friend, 'Pen'. I envisioned that anything was possible with a pen, I gave it so power and tried to see it as my magical wand, . I'm not to sure how the whole thing went but it started like this, ' Inside my pen, Inside my pen there are gorillas swinging from there trees, Inside my pen there are Hungry Sharks waiting to devour its prey'……… basically things I like to draw about. I wish I had listened to my younger self for he had much more knowledge than I,
-. Life has hit me hard as it does all.
Don't know if I'll be the hero I was meant to be but this poem, it means so much to me
I want to give it to my daughter of age 9 in hopes that maybe she will inspire to be what I was meant to be
. To write beautiful words that affect others whom cannot hear my cries over the divide,
void are my feelings that inspire
I'm unable to give her the knowledge of the world she desires.
for I do not experience it as you do,
poetry was the beginning of all, a creative genreation far more than any before,
with my wings bruised from playing the fool,
my vision abused from those of whom I chose,
without a voice, i felt I had no choice.
Gas Lit halls, I followed them all, Down the rabbits hole I fall you shouldve seen the things I saw.
I try to stand for one last Brawl, I should've known that it was I, The One, who through song could've saved us all.
This is me, B
The one you will put blame, and didn't know the game that was played.
