Baa Baa Baa Poem by Alade Abayomi Idris

Baa Baa Baa

Rating: 5.0

I can write in the language of the birds
But no, I wouldn't
Birds are falling day by day
And when the last bird falls
No one would be able to read what I'd written
If they do
Their understandings be more of guesses.

I will not write in the language of the birds
Lofty and palatial, beautiful and classic
Birds are dying without heirs
To their vast beautiful airs
What is the use?

Baa baa baa is better
Language of the now
No disturbance and worthy pains
Thoughts are gotten as easily as the breathable airs
As goats are many, and many are goats
The cubs, eaglets, and young lions all baas
Hence I my diction
That my thoughts may be gotten as intended
Even when I am in my room resting from the day's work.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There are a lot of credible write-ups that have been lost to time. Not because they could not be gotten but because the language in which they were written are not fancied by the present generation of readers who read majorly for forceful purposes such as examinations, interviews, seminars to mention but few.
I have been to one or two lecture rooms where the subject matters of an old book being taught were based on guesses. The teacher and listeners re-echoed their guesses and guesses of others. This is lamentable. Inasmuch as writers keep writing, I urge that writing should be made digestible to all by using simple and futuristic language. Scholars are loosing their scholarships and the children of the past scholars are not interested in scholarship hence what I meant by "birds are falling", and "the cubs, eaglets and young lions all baas".
The language of the future is "baa baa baa" as I pointed out in my poem titled BAA BAA BAA. The future belongs to men and women who do not like to suffer much. Their language is simple and will not hesitate to let go of writings laced with ambiguities. Since we cannot help the books that have been written long time ago from dying out, we surely can help the ones we are about to write. I urge all writers who want their writeups to live longer than them to write using Baa Baa Baa language.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Observing birds, understanding them and expressing all feelings really motivate mind. An interesting poem is very beautifully penned with excellent expression of perception and imagery. Resting from day's work is nice like resting of birds in nest. This is very amazing...10
