Baby Don'T You Hear The Heartbeat? Poem by Alexandria Angel

Baby Don'T You Hear The Heartbeat?

don't you hear the faint sound?
a beating heart from the ultrasound.
remembering our pass, how it went by in a blur,
having to go to the doctor just to make sure.
feeling it's movement, we had to double take,
but we have the baby now, we'll have to reawake.
baby don't you see it? we made it.
just to think it started with the words 'I love you',
pretty soon we'll have to play peek-a-boo.
we'll protect the baby in our arms,
we promise to keep it from harm.
I still can't believe my eyes,
I'm so glad we see eye to eye,
and vow to take care of it with the words 'I'll try.'
now we know what has to be done and can't retreat,
baby don't you hear the heartbeat? ..
