Yesterday walking through the woods
I saw a bend but not beyond
resolute..I carried on
my will was strong..my head's clear
yet my heart ached.
my soul searched..

there were times I needed a friend
whom I could trust wholeheartedly
whom I could share my life's secret
whom I could be myself
who'd share my joy and cry with me
but where are you?

I lost you for such a long long while..
it seemed like a lifetime..until now
like a prayer answered
you returned to me just as you left
my dearest..my lovely friend
you are back in my life
like the good times!

today the bend is long and winding
I could not see beyond
resolute..I'd carry on
My will is strong..my head's clear
my heart aches no more..
my soul searches no more..
my friend you're in my life to stay!
