Back In Time Poem by dun one

Back In Time

I went walking once through the busy streets of 21st century nowhere
People are not as how I’d wished them to be
The faces moan behind laptops staring at me
Staring until I collapse and am no longer their
Now I am here
In a field surrounded
Clothes torn
For this is where I have longed
Seems I’ve fallen back in time
19th century is where I lie
Landed on a dust tinged road
It appears that here I am not alone
It is here where I can wonder at night
Not looking like a lunatic out of sight
I may strike strange conversation as I please
Meet the stranger of my dreams
Under a foggy streetlight beam
Her and I stumble fast
Laughing and chuckling through our smoky grasp
Both our coats soar as we skip and stumble toward the sparkling shore
Maybe stand and gaze out off the pier
Or collapse on the sand enclosed by dark shades of blue
Hear the shore as it calls our names too
You rest your head on my shoulder
Upon this, I realize in my head I am so much older
Yet for tonight we bled in perfect harmony
Laughing without a care
And how our eyes they did stare
