Back Road Sunday Poem by Marilyn Lott

Back Road Sunday

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever had a Sunday
While driving along the back roads
You feel a little empty inside
Kind of in a lonesome mode?

Sometimes our journeys are less
Than what we expect them to be
From others we feel so distant
I know this has happened to me

Perhaps a lovely brick church stands
Alongside this quiet back road
You can feel the presence of Jesus
He wants to help you carry the load

The music is so gentle and soft
And you hear a lovely song
It’s so strange but you suddenly
Feel that is where you belong

I hope this will happen to you
If you feel empty and sad some day
And it takes place exactly like this
On a special back road Sunday!
