It looked just like a cowboy song
Cows meandering along the fence
Sun dropped down and sent colors
Across the sky with a bit of suspense
Windmill towering in the darkness
Against pale pink and baby blue
An old-style country feeling it was
And I think you might feel it too
I could picture a cowboy on his horse
Some cattle bedded down for the night
Couple of guitars playing ‘round the fire
What a delightful western sight
Wind picking up just a little bit
The orange flames softly sputtering
Tired horses tied up near-by
You could see their tails a’fluttering
Can’t be a more western setting
After a day so tiring and long
Strummin’ those old guitars
And singing a cowboy song!

Great poem. I, personally, love cowboy songs and country singers. I may have told you already about my poem COUNTRY CROONERS. Keep up the good work.
Loveely nostalgic poem. Read mine – Hand Haying - Adeline Foster
Nice piece. It made me think back to when I was a kid .. and.. the cowboy films at Saturday matinee. Thanks.

I love this poem and I love the content! I'm a cowgirl, and there is no better way to enjoy beautiful scenery than on horseback. You get the sights, sounds, and the beautiful scent of flowers, through the areas you ride....Thanks for sharing my passion......Kathy
