Bad Dream Poem by Karl Newton

Bad Dream

Rating: 5.0

Falling
Reoccurring bad dream
Fills me with fear
Panic attack inducing
Anxiety provoking
Awakening me in a sweat

The dream
Mainly always the same
Me inside a lift
One in which I've been many times
Seemingly drifting floor to floor
Climbing the building as usual
Until
Suddenly
The speed accelerates
Fast and faster
Until we reach the top
Then
With a thumping crash that shakes the lift and me to the core
The lift plummets into darkness
And we race toward the floor
Many feet below
Fear of death kicking in
Until suddenly I awake
Shaking
Scared
Alive

That is only a psychological phenomenon which is easily curable. Thanks
