Ballad Of A Shadow Poem by Alyssa ArtsLover

Ballad Of A Shadow

'...And the ballad of a shade
Leads you on your road
The weeping scars of yesterday
The rustling wings of tomorrow
A dream soaked in unforgiving
Dancing bushes-they whisper no more tales

But with the porcelain of your soul
You hide and seek

Oh my dear, just don't tell me
That you'd wait until it bleeds!

And you take your steps among roses of fears
Blackened by the nightbreed
While their thorns are pricking your feet
Your eyes are faded by tears
Rotten cores of a leander are streaming in your veins
The surrounding misgiving,
The lurking trees and frozen branches-they whisper no more tales

For a moment you'd lay down on your pain woven carpet
But the strenght doesn't let you to rest

And now they're drinking life from the body of death
And now they're taking love from the heart full of poison and hate
And now they're inhaling warmth through the shell of eternal coldness

But with the porcelain of your soul
You hide and seek
How long will it take?

Oh my dear just don't tell me
That you'd wait until it bleeds!

Will you be able to speak
With sewed lips?
Will you be able to hear
With closed ears?
Will you be able to see
With eyes full of tears?
Will you be able to cry for help with no voice?
Or you let them to choke your screams?

But with the porcelain of your soul
You hide and seek
Until you realize there is no more love that awaits

But oh, my dear, just don't tell me
That you still wait for the first drop it bleeds!

And the ballad of a shade loudly plays
With a stronger string picking'
