Battle Cry

Awake! Awake!
Shake off the heavy cloak that slumber has burden you with, morning has come to greet us.
Drink deeply from its rays of light and feel its warmth upon your skin, for you are alive.
Breath deeply from the crisp desert air and feel the cool breeze upon your face. Yes, I am alive.

To battle! To battle!
Roaring with the fury of hell, man and machine launch themselves into the sky.
How glorious a sight, those brave souls racing headlong towards their fates.
How agonizing the hours become, until their safe return.

To sleep! To sleep!
Rest now and think not upon the dead, for their trials are now over and yours still to come.
Close your eyes and blanket your mind with nothing.
Dream gently and worry not, because tomorrow is glorious and new.
For tonight, your are alive.

Sad but very positive outlook. A true poet in the making.
