Battle Ready Poem by Alma Ray

Battle Ready

She walks out into the early morning sun

Sits in the dewy grass, soft and plush...

This is one of her most favourite things to do; the tranquility, finding the peace, getting
grounded, feeling the hush...

The air taste sweet like sunshine and as she looks around the trees are multicolored in full...

And as she sits there and lets herself sink down deeper, she can feel the earth begin to pull...

She is grateful for today you see, for it is a little different than most...

Because when she woke up this morning she felt a little twinkling of hope...

The latest cave of her mind and spirits residence, was of deep recess

And had rendered her feeling unworthy, dark in spirit and hopeless...

Yet as she becomes one with herself she feels the desire to fight the darkness hanging over her, let the light come to the surface

For she knows her life has a different plan, a better purpose...

So she readies herself, prepares her heart and mind, she knows what to do, she's fought and won this battle before...

She makes a promise to herself as she sits there in the beautiful, healing gleam of sunlight, she will not give up on herself again and will fight until her happiness is restore
