Scales Of Life Poem by Alma Ray

Scales Of Life

What the scale tells you is how much space you take,
What the scale tells you is how little you care about being fake...

What the scale tells you is you are no longer a young one now,
What the scale tells you is you better acquaint yourself with the term "fat sow"...

What the scale tells you is you have given up due to all that you have been through,
What the scale tells you is you need to take care of you...

What the scale doesn't tell you is you are beautiful, capable and strong,
What the scale needs to tell you is you can be you again, it won't take long…

What the scale will not tell you is no matter the number you can be desirable to someone,
What the scale will tell you is your happiness matters even if you weigh a ton...

The scales of life weigh for us everything and all, no matter what,
Take back your power, you choose how to be you, you can do it, show life's scales your new smaller gut...
Be proud of you no matter what the scale says, today, tomorrow, next year,
For it is a greater accomplishment in beauty to be confident and overcome your fears…
