Battles Poem by J.B. LeBuert

Battles

I've won a few
But lost so many
I've lost count too
If there were any
Wars to be fought
In which I'm caught

I've won a few
Did they count
For anything new
On which to mount
My hopes and dreams
Without your screams

I've won a few
But it doesn't matter
If you only knew
That all the chatter
Renounces the fight
Because your right

I've won a few
At who's expense?
Was it you
It doesn't make sense
To even struggle
I'd rather snuggle

I've won my share
For what it's worth
Do you even care
For mirth on earth
Now I'm done at last
Battles are in the past
