Be Inspired By Nature Around You. Poem by Mokhele Mabaso

Be Inspired By Nature Around You.

If you believe in the rain clouds
You shall smell the rain.
Take each drop
And add it
With another.
And another
With the other.
See if you cannot create a well.
Proclaim it, and
It will be your source of life.
You know:
Each dark, bellowing cloud you see
Is highly pregnant with rain.
What do you conceive this day?
Delightful happiness
Or destructive spirit?
Remember, the world
Reflects back what you project.

If you believe in capabilities of human-nature
Why don't you believe in yourself?
Believe in yourself for you are all you need.
Were you not once a seed?
Dream of the impossible
You sure need to see them possible.
Venture into the unachievable
Labour to see them achievable.
An airplane that flies above,
A car that drives about,
A submarine that sails beneath.
Believe in dreams for all those
Started as a dream!
An achievable dream.

If you believe in the calmness of the night,
You indeed shall see the shimmering stars.
Such a jewel in the vast sky so bright!
So reach out for them-
Take one,
You might have a gem,
A beacon to lead you
Through the dark night.
Pray to the one who created
The days to enjoy
And the nights to rest!
Listen to that cricket as
it chirps to woo a mate or
a frog that croaks to attract a mate or
even an awl that hoots to mate.
Mate, all these, a lullaby for a baby
And a serenade for your night.
Cuddle up and fondle the one you love.
Sweet dreams, dear believer!

But only if you believe.
