Be The Man Poem by Gio Masserati

Be The Man

Life's gotten too big, bigger than the two of us
I'll be over here, very near
Until you're ready
Maybe you will never be
Life?

To tell me the things
You know I need to hear
It's just so hard
Stringing love along
An actual form of Art
I'm impressed
Life

We've both been hurt
Holding on to heart
Hold on my heart
Licks to the wounds
Like it or not
Has a funny way, about it
Life

I've become endeared to your ways
Maybe I'm just kinda weird that way
Likes of you
Love's price, it's stakes are high
But, my heart is willing to pay
Love's price?
Life

Maybe, just maybe
I know the cost going in
Who cares about ego
With all it's extra risks
They seem to outweigh the bad
Isn't that good to hear
Maybe, babe, what I'm trying to say
Is...my love is over here
This a way, I'm here
Very near, but seems like dimensions away
Math joke?
Life

When your ready
If by chance in time
To take your hand in mine
And vice versa
My hand in your
And be that man
Be the man
That I know you are!

I won't be far
Just look on a 🌟
The wishes from the ageless
Scatter all heart's doubts
And the hopes for your tomorrows
Will blow petals within your heart
Life

Be the man!
