Be The One Poem by hidden poet

Be The One

Rating: 5.0

I sit here late at night;
alone, afraid, and in the dark.

I wallow in my self despair
and wait for someone else to care.

But then i remember
that life ain't fair.

You can't wait for someone else to care;
you have to be the one.

Take the initiative.
It sucks, I know.

But it's what you have to do.
Be the one to jump the gun.
Find a heart like yours.
Be the one to start.

Only then will you sit there, late at night,
with someone beside you, unafraid, and in the dark.

Be the one.

I enjoyed this one. It may seem simple and obvious; but speaking from first hand experience, it sure can take you a long time to learn the wisdom of 'be the one'. (smile)
