Be Your Own Poem by Morgan Stanton

Be Your Own

These cheeks of mine
Are stained with tears
These eyes of mine
Are full of pain
Im trapped, screaming on the inside
screaming for someone to save me
someone to come
Set. Me. Free.

'Save me' i scream
only to be rejected by simple man
Difference has been beaten down
Outcasted by the normaled
Only the differed
can live life for what it is now
But the average human
Cannot stand the sight of the original
Save me, i say
save me from the common

Advice given from regular
shan't be taken
every word taken from the simple
Has broken pieces from the different
So i scream to anyone who will listen
Be your own
