Beast (1993r) Poem by Patrick Wescott

Beast (1993r)

Rating: 2.7

I am locked in a battle,
and my soul is at stake.
Every waking moment
is a constant struggle.
For the Beast is within me
and it wants blood..

I can only rest
while Im asleep.
And even then
I can not trust myself.
For one slip in control,
and it will rise to rule.

Never will I be free
of this burden.
For it is a part of me
and can never be severed.
Forever must I strive
to maintain a balance,
For fear of awakening
The Beast.
