Beaten Poem by Thistle Wargul

Beaten

Beaten with lies
And with insults and rumours,
With stares and with glares
And with venomous words.
Pelted with sticks
And with stones and with rubbish
With punches and kicks
And with damaging blows.
We cry out
In pain and in anguish
In terror, just begging for these
Awful thing to be stopped.
We reach out
With soft trusting hands
For some help but they’re
Always ignored and met by harsh words.

Turn the other cheek,
‘Cos we’re not helping you out.
It’s your own fault they hate you,
It’s your fault your own fault you suffer.
Let them walk all over you,
Retaliation’s wrong and justice don’t matter

I’ve cried so many times over the years,
I’m surprised my tears haven’t dried up.
I’ve been so alone in myself,
But I know if I’m careful I won’t lose my mind.

Every time I cried out for help
My pleas fell on deaf ears.
Even with proof right in front of their eyes,
They said I’d imagined it all.

Turn the other cheek,
‘Cos we’re not helping you out.
It’s your own fault they hate you,
It’s your fault your own fault you suffer.
Let them walk all over you,
Retaliation’s wrong and justice don’t matter

Beaten with lies
And with insults and rumours,
With stares and with glares
And with venomous words.
Pelted with sticks
And with stones and with rubbish
With punches and kicks
And with damaging blows.
We cry out
In pain and in anguish
In terror, just begging for these
Awful thing to be stopped.
We reach out
With soft trusting hands
For some help but they’re
Always ignored and met by harsh words.
