The war is still on,
5 years after, we are still fighting,
Plastic pollution here and there,
In the city, on the beaches
The menace is still growing strong.

This is our story,
The story is fueled by consumerism
Gradually leading us to the Anthropocene,
Perhaps, a state of great uncertainty.

I wouldn't bore you much,
But we depend on the environment for sustenance,
With each component's key to sustainability
When the environment thrives, we thrive

Far from it, we are not doomed,
We can beat plastic pollution,
We just need to re-design our economy,
Change our habits and lifestyle,
And acknowledge Mother Earth for our shared prosperity,
We are the solution to plastic pollution
