Beating The Red Light Poem by Inner Whispers

Beating The Red Light

Rating: 5.0

What's the end of the road
I asked myself,
fulfillment
or disgrace?

I halt by the blinking light's command
green turned red
I stopped to wait for my chance,
silence, I embrace...

Suddenly I turned deaf
no roaring of engines heard
the sign seem long enough
to wash my eagerness to fight.

This pedestrian lane has end
meeting both aisle for any man
reaching their destination
but why no one's crossing in despiration?

Hmn...it's only 5: 49am, sunday
and all might be on their bed
only my engine is roaring
I can beat the light again!

Yet rules of the road
are rules no matter what
beating the red light for what?
I don't hurry that much!

Why should I hurry
if no one to compete the race with?
No people seen crossing
for me to avoid in rushing?

But I know someone is watching
if I beat the red light again
I need to stop for a while
to give way for that damn cry...

A cry of respect
a soul's longing to beat
respect is essential
even I do things sometimes out of grace!

Beating the red light is against the road rules, my friends!
